Stony Point Camp 4-6 March

The following week sees our first Art camp for the year to Stony Point in Western Port Bay. Stony point is a small coastal village near HMAS Cerberus naval training centre and is the embarkation and landing point for the Philip Island and French Island ferry. The area is popular with fishing folk and contains a caravan park with cabins for hire as well as campsites for tents etc. Bairnsdale students are invited to join us if they wish and we have reserved a cabin for you if anyone is interested. Please let us know ASAP. Stony point is a half hour train ride from Frankston and this enables students to choose to commute if they are unable to stay overnight. The camp will be taking place between Tuesday March 4th and Thursday March 6th and will feature 3 days of landscape based art around drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. There is particular emphasis on 9x5 landscape painting on boards based on the tradition established by the Heidelberg school in the 1880s when they used cigar box lids to make plein air studies in the Australian bush. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_by_5_Impression_Exhibition

The work is then showing in the first student exhibition of the year at Brightspace http://www.brightspace.com.au/gallery in St Kilda, usually in April. All students are represented in the exhibition including those who are unable to attend the camp; as long as they submit work made in the 9x5 format.

Need financial help?
Go to: chisholm.edu.au/paymentplans
(not for courses eligible for VET fee help).

How can students find out about the plans? Information on the payment plans is available on chisholm.edu.au/paymentplans. Chisholm’s Client Services and Information front reception staff have been trained to register students for the payment plans and to be able to provide advice and answer questions.

How do students apply for a direct debit payment plan? Cash register operators will complete the agreement with the student at the administration desk, at the point of enrolment. The operators will use an easy desktop application with a digital signature pad to submit the agreement; there is no need for paperwork.

Students will require their bank account or credit card details at the time of setting up their agreement. They will require their parent or guardian with them if they are under 18 years of age.
